Nicole's Oasis
 

Hands on a beer bottle
with a label torn
in pieces.

Nicole's liquid eyes,
wounded and hopeful,
from beneath her curly red hair.

The original lost child
alone in a gaggle of people...
mouthing 'alone again...naturally.'
wistfully synching with her 70's cd.

She closes her eyes
and falls into the music
like the baptism of youth

Notes swirling and crashing
into her flesh.
An oasis under the aloof moonlight
made of half notes and murmurs

the directions are on a torn label
framed by unspoken dreams
beside the discarded beer bottle.
