Acting 101
Veteran theater and film director Larry Dennis presents tips and tools for beginning and intermediate actors to create characters on stage and film. Beginning with the concept that your job is to tell a story and your instrument is your body, Dennis guides you through freeing your creativity, finding strong actions to play, and imbueing your character with deep personal choices.
Also included is a segment on audition techniques.
This is a three hour seminar presenting an overview of useful acting tools for the adult and older teen actor.
Dennis has been directing theater for over 20 years and has directed about 50 productions, ranging from full scale large cast musicals, to small guerilla theater one acts and independent film shorts. Through much of that he has worked with beginning and intermediate actors and has developed a tool box of tips and techniques to get solid performances from those actors. This accumulated knowledge is what Dennis shares with you in this seminar.
Seminar presented Saturday, January 23, 2010, 9a.m -12pm at the ICAN Building, 3450 Hill Road, Boise, Idaho.
Age limited to 15 and older. Tuition $29, includes workbook.
