BEING HUMAN
Visual Poetry/On-line Art
by Annie Abrahams
It is while playing with the blur between art and not-art, that French artist (of Dutch origin) Annie Abrahams explores the new territories, identities and relationships which are established on the World Wide Web.
Being connected with a kind of outside zone, the Web remains an ambiguous space for the artist in which a certain number of commonly allowed values are called into question. Halfway between visual poetry and art on line, the project "Being Human" is a point of intersection privileged with minimalist esthetics.
Creating scene dialogue and emotional situations, "Being Human" leads the Net surfer to wonder about the various communication rites which reveal and draw each of us into a newer cartography of our contemporary being.
Annie says of "Being Human", "On the network, we
all are nomads confronted with our statute from abroad. I try to make proposals
which have the possibility of making this state livable."
PLEASE NOTE: "Being Human" is a huge hyperart/poetry work. The link below will take you off site, out of the pages of EOTU. If you haven't yet done so, please go to the Front Cover and bookmark it, so you can find your way back.
