Kelley White    "After time in my home state, New Hampshire I am making the difficult to return to inner city Philadelphia where I have spent nearly 25 years practicing pediatrics with urban poor families.  During those years I have become a Quaker and the single mother of  three remarkable mixed-race children (my former
in-laws were from Shanghai).  I write to survive and have met with surprising  success in my attempts at publication, most recently winning The Cynic Prize from the local Cynic Press for my chapbook manuscript Rule of Thumb which deals largely with domestic violence. I  have just received the proofs for Late, my second collection from The People’s Press in Baltimore.  I have also learned that my chapbook manuscript Against Medical Advice will be published by Pudding House Publications. I received  a Pushcart nomination in 2000, my first year of submission, and again in 2002 and 2003.  I’m amazed by all this (and must thank my postal carrier for all the mail she carries to and from my box.)."

Ken Rehill    "After twenty-five years in counseling in Kingman, Arizona, I jumped at a chance to serve here, in Alaska's northern interior.  As program administrator for the Council of the Athabascan Tribal Government's Yukon Flats Care Center, I am responsible for providing behavioral health services to ten remote villages, reachable only by air.  I hadn't previously written for publication, but I can't NOT write about what I'm experiencing here.  I began submitting at the end of April and, so far, 30 poems have been accepted by Mobius, Poetic Voices, Poetry Motel, Soul Fountain and other publications."
