OUR GODDESS
Clam City is protected by a Mythical Protection Fairy, Martha. She came to us from one of the inner midland cities, where she had been a Protector for years and years. She came to us ostensibly because she likes our climate better, but there are those theologians who believe she was kicked out of the midland city because she wouldn't do what the City Council there ordered her to do. (What it was they ordered her to do is not a matter of record, but of great speculation -- which we will not speculate upon here.) The theories and beliefs based in Martha having failed the City Council of that midland city are based on the observation that here in Clam City Martha pretty much does as she pleases.Fortunately, what she pleases most is to Protect us. And that's why we have made her our own.
